“I have changed many things in my life”

  • Alexandre Dardet

After a 2015-2016 where he played only 2 games, Alexandre Dardet is ready to come back to the highest level.

During the summer 2014, he came with the professional team as an Espoir, ready to learn, Alexandre Dardet was the revelation of the FCG during the pre-season tour of the club in Argentine. He went on collecting games in Top 14 before having a terrible car accident in January 2015. “The wheel was inlayed in the dashboard. The fireman who saved me said that, if I did not weighed 120 kilos, I would have been killed” Alexandre Dardet told Le Dauphiné Libéré. “I stayed ten days in intensive care before I could walk again.”

Back in Top14 in autumn 2015, he got a knee ligament rupture. An injury that will sound as a game-changer: “I have changed many things in my life. I have focused on myself. I had more than one iron in the fire; I was lost. (…) I understood that I hade a great responsibility in what had happened to me.”

For this new season, under Bernard Jackman, the 23-old player wants to meet the requirements of the top level. “I was given a chance in Top 14 when I was 21. It went well for me, but I was not ready, not professional enough. Today, I know what to do to be efficient.”

Starter in the front row last Friday for the first pre-season game of the FCG against Agen, Alexandre Dardet will play a second game with the “Rouge & Bleu”: either at Lesdiguières on Thursday against Lyon or on Friday in Treviso.
