After a slow first half, the Grenoblois pulled out to win against Montauban (24-21)

The FCG received Montauban Sunday, to try to recover the fourth place and get closer to the top three.

The beginning of the match is balanced between the two teams. It is Grenoble, author of a first strong moment, which opens the score by Burton Francis (3-0, 3 '). The FCG holds the ball, but struggles to materialize his possessions. Montauban takes the opportunity to equalize (3-3, 14 ')

The "Rouge & Bleu" score a new penalty in the wake (6-3, 17 '), but are joined almost immediately (6-6, 22')

Then will intervene a first turning point in the match: Burton Francis tries to clear his camp since his 22, but he is countered, Pierre Klur marks the first attempt (6-11, 23 '). Montauban will take advantage of it's time to quickly score a second try. After a ball carried illicitly stopped by Fabien Alexandre, the Sapiaciens play the advantage and score under the posts (6-18, 30 '). Double penalty for the Grenoblois, since the third line of the FCG takes a yellow card on this action.

Reduced to 14, the "Rouge & Bleu" resist well and then take advantage of a penalty to look for the key after the siren. On this one, the isérois fronts will multiply the playing times and it is Loïc Godener, one of the players in form, which will mark! (11-18, 40 ').

The Grenoblois start the second half on the floor. After the yellow card of Claude Dry, they are quickly back in the 22 opponents. Burton Francis concretizes this first sequence on a penalty (14-18, 45 ').

Upon dismissal, Lolagi Visinia sends the ball to a Montalbanian winger, who pulls the ball into touch. On it, the ball worn Grenoble is well defended, but Lilian Saseras sends the ball on Nigel Hunt. The three-quarter center Isère resists several tackles and marks the second try of the FCG (21-18, 47 ').

The Grenoblois will further accentuate their dominance in the second half. But a penalty conceded here, a lost ball over there, they will not manage to widen the gap, except by a penalty of their opener (24-18, 60 ').

After the hour of play, Montauban takes a little air and Jerome Bosviel allows Montauban to return in the bonus (24-21, 70 '). The "Rouge & Bleu" will then enjoyed a new high point in the 22 opponents, but they still can not score this try that would ensure victory. Finally, the Grenoblois are present on the last possession of Montauban and win 24 to 21.

By signing this victory, the FCG takes fourth place, and returns to Mont-de-Marsan 4 points and Montauban 10 points, before moving to Narbonne, the red lantern, next Friday.
