The FCG qualified for the last four!

Grenoble - Biarritz: 33-2

The "Rouge & Bleu" supporters had met at the Stade des Alpes on this warm spring night when the FCG hosted Biarritz for the Pro D2 dam.

From the beginning of the meeting, the Grenoblois put a lot of intensity to hold the ball and be dangerous in the opposite camp. They succeed and logically lead after half an hour of play (9-3, 27 ').

After Biarritz return to the score (9-6, 32 '), the Grenoblois mark the first try of the meeting, in power, by Hans Nkinsi (16-6, 34'). But the Basques react with Tawalo who, after a try refused, enjoys a beautiful sequence of his teammates after a kick unscrewed by Franck Pourteau, to reduce the score (16-11, 38 ').

After the break, the "Red & Blue" dig the entry gap: Franck Pourteau takes the interval, he serves David Melé who finds Nigel Hunt. The center Grenoble mark in what could be his last match at the Stade des Alpes (23-11, 43 ').

The Grenoblois do not manage to keep the gap: Tawalo, still him, is found in the end and reduces the score (23-18, 48 '). The Biarrots return even two points after a penalty far distant Maxime Lucu (23-21, 57 ').

The turning point of the game is probably this scrum played after a return too long play of the opener of the FCG. The Grenoble forwards dismount the opposing scrum and get a penalty. Following this penalty, the FCG is a little rough in the 22 opponents, but gets a penalty, converted by David Melé (26-21, 65 ').

After the first failure at the foot of the Grenoble half-melee, Lucas Dupont pierced the defense line. His teammates follow well and it is Daniel Kilioni who ends in the goal (33-21, 72 ').

Biarritz scores again after a broken arm played quickly by Maxime Lucu (33-26, 77 '). What to give cold sweats to fans of the FCG. But the defense "Red & Blue" will hold and the FCG ensures its qualification in the semifinals!

See you next Saturday in Montauban for the last step before the final of Pro D2.
