Disabled sports are featured in the December issue of Métropole magazine.
Indeed, the Metro has 180 disabled people and nearly 290 in adapted sports. Among these athletes, we find the FCG Quad Rugby team, attached to the FCG in 2016, this team is led by David Romero and coached by Raphael Da Silva.
Quad rugby or wheelchair rugby has its roots in Canada since 1976, it is a disability derived from rugby, ice hockey and basketball. The matches are played 4 against 4 for 4 periods of 8 minutes with a volleyball, on a playing field equivalent to a basketball court.
The objective of each team is that the member of his team who carries the ball scores a goal by touching or crossing the opponent's goal line. The team with the most goals wins the game.
Rugby chair is a mixed team sport that is played with a specific manual chair, and can be played at any age
