Last minute defeat...

  • Bastien Guillemin

The FCG concedes the defeat at the last second (23-24), but knows what to rely on for the Access Match

The FCG ended the regular season with a raging defeat against the LOU (23-24)

The game started badly for the Grenoble team, who conceded a try after a perfectly negotiated action by the Lyon team on a scrum in the 22 Iseris (0-7, 3'). Soon, the Grenoblois came back. Also, after a scrum, Lilian Saseras plays with his foot on the closed side. The ball bounced over Buttin, who saw Bastien Guillemin run into the try-zone (7-7, 9'). Dominators, the Lyon team will return to the locker room with a 7-point lead, thanks to a strong try at the end of the half (10-17, 32'). Meanwhile, Beka Gigashvili was refused his try for crawling into a ruck.

The "Rouge & Bleu" started better in the second half and went ahead thanks to a try by Bastien Guillemin, who concluded a very good collective action of the Grenoble team (18-17, 46'). The Grenoble team have possession and are valiant in defence, as evidenced by the ball taken from the try zone by a FCG player. This action will reach the Lyon en-but, but the referee refuses to give Bastien Guillemin a try.

Steven Setephano even allowed the FCG to widen the gap, thanks to a try from Steven Setephano, who followed Gervais Cordin well (23-17, 76'). Unfortunately, the Lyon team, on their last opportunity, snatched victory after a converted try (23-24, 79').

The Grenoble team was able to prepare as well as possible for the most important match of the season next Sunday in Brive or Bayonne, the unfortunate finalist in Pro D2.
