After a complicated beginning of the season, between the suspension of the championship, the postponement of the games because of COVID, the repeated defeats, the Amazons finally sign a BEAUTIFUL victory against Valletta.
For this 2nd part of the Elite 1 Championship, the Amazons find a brand new pool for play-down: Valletta, Bobigny, Stade Français. A more balanced pool that allows the Amazons to finally make up for the victory!
Manu Pellorce, Elite 1 coach, tells us about the match :
"Good start to the match where we score quickly, but we multiply the fouls and get a yellow card which allows Valletta to get penalties and to equalise. Good reaction on our part because we score just after the equaliser!
Unfortunately despite a good outing our bad defensive fall back in R3 allows Valletta to come back and score again without too much effort. Half time score 14 - 12.
The half time point on tactics, the mental slackening combined with the opponents' slackening, as well as our domination in scrum and the rectification in touch enabled us to dominate this second half time by scoring 4 more tries and to pocket the bonus point which bodes well for these play downs".
