The LOU and the FCG are not leaving each others this season. The two teams will meet twice in Challenge Cup and twice in the Top 14.
But before the first derby of the season Saturday, Lyon and Grenoble have already met this season at Stade Lesdiguières for a friendly match. The FCG won on the score of 19-17.
The last match between the two teams at Matmut Stadium was played in May 2015. Lyon was already relegated, but the FCG needed a point to secure his place in the Top 14 the following season. After a nightmarish game early "Red & Blue", led 14-0 after 10 minutes of play, Grenoble have gradually made their delay, to return to the defensive bonus minutes from the end of the meeting (29 -24). If the final moments of the encounter are tense, the FCG manages to keep the score until the siren and save his place among the elite.
