FC Grenoble Rugby wished to respond to the articles appeared in the press in recent hours
The Club has been in effect at the start of a season behind its projected budget of around € 1m. We always wanted to have in this club a culture of accountability and transparency. As it should, the FCG has informed the DNACG of this gap, without waiting for regulatory deadlines. Meanwhile, leaders have held meetings with the administrative staff and sporting staff for them to be the first informed and work together for solutions to quickly set up to improve this situation. An announcement was also made last night during a season launch party with a significant number of partners of the club.
As in good as in bad times, FC Grenoble Rugby has always worked collectively. We know that the commitment of our players, our fans, our partners in this "Rouge & Bleu" jersey is exceptional and we know that together we will find solutions to the challenges we face. This is particularly why we have proposed to the players to think about the hypothesis of a reduction of their salaries. One step at essentially symbolic, given that these efforts will be worn by all employees of the FCG. A gesture of solidarity and commitment to the club for a team which we recall, the first responsibility is to win on the field, what they have done remarkably against Brive last weekend.
Today no decision on this point has been taken. Players continue to think of solutions in close collaboration with the club management. In parallel a series of measures aimed at cost reductions and develop new recipes is already in place.
We do not want to be alarmist for FCG, but determined, courageous, honest and supportive deal with the situation.
