Only one player from both clubs wore the jerseys of both teams, it's Fabien Alexandre. From the FCG academy, the flancker evolved in Clermont between 2007 and 2009, before returning to Grenoble in 2011.
In recent history, great names of "Rouge & Bleu" rugby wore the Clermont jersey as Jamie Cudmore, who spent two seasons in Grenoble, before making eleven in Auvergne, Jean-Jacques Taofifenua six seasons Grenoble, one with ASM. It should also be mentioned Olivier Brouzet, initially played for FCG, who played for Clermont for two years, and Olivier Merle, one of 1993 Mammoths, who began his career at Clermont before playing there again for 6 years after its passage in Grenoble.
Laurent Burg, Laurent Gomez, Tolufua Abraham, Olivier Toulouze, Lyonel Vaintanaki and Geoffroy Messina also played for both clubs. Finally, Michel Ringeval was the coach of ASM for nearly 20 years, from the end of his playing career, before being one of the coaches of the FCG for nearly a decade.
