Eugène Mogore, champion of France 54, passed away

The FCG lost one of its champions

Eugene Smogorczewski, known as Mogore, died at the age of 86 years. He was born in Švenčionys (then in Poland) in 1930, his family emigrated to Ugine in Savoy during the same year. He joined FC Grenoble Rugby in 1953, club with which he will be champion of France the following year. After two seasons in Grenoble, he then plays in Narbonne, then participates, as a coach, in the rise of Roanne in the first division, before joining the Voulte.

After his playing career, he returned to Grenoble where he became a cadet educator and then a referee. After his sporting retirement, he became CEO and CEO for 15 years of the Magnat Simon establishments in Pont-de-Claix.

He had been honored with a CGF cape in the 2014 promotion.

The funeral of Eugène Mogore will take place on December 27, at 13:45 at the funeral center of La Tronche.
