FCG traveled to Montpellier for the 23rd round of Top 14
It was undoubtedly one of the last opportunities for the Grenoble to return to Stade Francais, the first non-relegable.
But the afternoon was long for the Grenoblois. After 10 good minutes, the "Rouge & Bleu" conceded 5 tries throughout the first half, especially on several turnovers. The Grenoblois, on the other hand, had no opportunity to score.
The "Rouge & Bleu" come back with other intentions in the second half. This is witnessed by several successive scrums won at the hour of play, after the entries of Dylan Jacquot and Ali Oz. It is finally Arnaud Héguy who comes to conclude this good sequence of Grenoble (33-7, 61 ').
Unfortunately, Montpellier scored again on a drive ball in the minutes that followed, then another try and finally a last one, a bulldozer try, of Nemani Nadolo (54-7, 76 '). Tino Nemani returns to him on the siren (54-14, 80 ')
With the victory of the Stade Français in Bayonne, this defeat condemns the FCG to a thirteenth place, at best, in this Top 14.
