The FCG won 38 to 16 against Provence Rugby for their final game of preparation
In his den of Lesdiguières, the "Rouge & Bleu" received Provence Rugby, club of Federal 1, after having confronted two teams of Top 14.
The coaches had announced it: this opponent would be particularly painful. And it was. The Provençaux were particularly aggressive in the first period, depriving the Grenoble players of balloon and opportunities to score. After a penalty of Provence Rugby (0-3), Lolagi Visinia scored his first attempt of the evening (5-3). Unfortunately, in the wake of a new Provençal penalty, the Aixois scored after an interception (5-13). David Mélé scored a half-melee attempt and then Lolagi Visinia scored an 80-meter try after a recovered ball on his 22 (17-13).
The start of the second half is particularly closed. The Grenoblois can not hold the ball enough to be dangerous. After a Provençal penalty (17-16), the Grenoblois finally score: Francois Uys finds a good ball carried FCG (24-16), then Paulin Mas on the same type of action (31-16).
The Grenoblois finish the match with a superb action, packed with passes after contact, that Jérémy Valençot finishes in the goal (38-16).
After a long weekend, the Grenoblois will meet Lesdiguières Tuesday to prepare the first game of Pro D2: a trip to Dax Sunday.
