Last days before it finally starts

The Top 14 is back on Saturday for the "Rouge & Bleu"

After nearly two months of preparation, the Grenoble team will reach their goal: on Saturday, they will start the Top 14 championship at 5.15pm on the Stade Marcel Deflandre in La Rochelle.

At the end of June, the Grenoble group had found themselves in Lesdiguières for the resumption of training, with an almost unchanged staff, if not the contribution of Jean-Noël Perrin, recently crowned French champion with the Crabos and new scrum coach. The FCG then set off for Val d'Isère for a pre-season training camp, which also enabled the integration of the new recruits.

Back in Grenoble, the players and coaches reinforced the role of rugby in their preparation, with the arrival of Vlok Cilliers for ten days to develop the game at the foot of the back. The first pre-season games have also arrived in the schedule.

The FCG starts with a first match against Provence Rugby, in Gap. The Grenoblois win by two points (15-13). The following week in Valencia they had more difficulties against the LOU: the semi-finalist of the previous season won 28-0 and last Friday FCG beat the Zebre in Lesdiguières (31-7).

This week, serious things are starting, with this trip to La Rochelle: the working days are long and intense for the Grenoblois, like Tuesday, where the "Rouge & Bleu" were on the field, in the gym or on video from 9am until 4pm. After a day of rest on Wednesday, they will meet at Lesdiguières on Thursday for another big day of work before taking off for the Atlantic Ocean on Friday, after the team's run.
