The MHR will be the first opponent to the FCG of the Boxing Days
The star player
Johan Goosen had been in the news when he left Racing 92. The South African has returned to France, to Montpellier, where he shares the fly-half position with Aaron Cruden, when the two are not lined up together, Goosen sliding into the centre or as a full back. The South African, voted best player in the Top 14 in 2016, should be the conductor of the Montpellier XV on Saturday at the Stade des Alpes.
The ex
Kevin Kornath joined the MHR in 2017. Having only appeared on the Cistes bench twice last season, the flanker has had more regular chances this season (11 matches, including 3 starts), even scoring his first Top 14 try on the Stade Français pitch.
The last game
In the last match between the two teams at the Stade des Alpes, the FCG lost (37-51). Chris Farrell, Peter Kimlin, Hendrik Roodt and Sisa Waqa scored 4 tries for the FCG, who came back to 37-39 in the 66th minute of play, before conceding 2 tries in the last 5 minutes.
The last games
In their double confrontation against Toulon in the Champions Cup, Montpellier suffered defeat in the Var (38-28) and got a victory at home (34-13). Before that, MHR had lost at home to Clermont (23-28)
The next games
The second match of the Boxing Days will see the Héraultese receive Pau at the GGL Stadium, then welcome the LOU.
