Grenoble beaten by the Harlequins

  • Antonin Berruyer
  • Gervais Cordin

Last Challenge Cup match on Friday against Treviso

The "Rouge & Bleu" were playing this Saturday in London for the fifth round of the Challenge Cup against the Harelquins, who beat them 3 years ago in the semi-finals of this competition.

Grenoble got the game off to a perfect start with a try from captain Antonin Berruyer after a minute of play. Harlequins react quickly by scoring 3 tries. Gervais Cordin then scored his first try since his return from injury in early December. The Harlequins score the bonus try after half an hour of play. Gervais Cordin scored a second try before the break (28-17)

The second half was a little more closed, but Grenoble dominated. The "Rouge & Bleu" have several opportunities to score, but will only do it on penalty. On the other hand, the Harlequins will register a penalty, then a try, on the siren, to establish their victory (38-20)

This defeat without bonus eliminates the FCG from this 2018-2019 Challenge Cup. On the last day, the "Rouge & Bleu" will play the role of referee in the duel between the Harlequins and Benetton Trevise to secure a place in the quarter-finals.
