Stéphane Glas had a long talk after the game against Racing 92
What feelings do you have after this game?
"Frustrated, disappointed by the result and the way the game went. With two interceptions... On the first one, Vakatawa has a good defensive reading. On the second one, we have to see that the Racingman is close. After that, there is also frustration, because, against these teams, we absolutely have to be very realistic. Unfortunately, Lolagi makes a kock-out in the try-zone at the end of the first half and, at the beginning of the second half, we break through, we finish on the line without scoring. We can collect between 10 and 14 points on these two actions. And it wouldn't have been the same game. To win, we need all this, against these teams, who play the top of the table, who play for the title. Then, as soon as we dropped a ball, we were immediately in danger. They have players who go very fast, who take immediate decisions, that are often the right ones. We also knew the danger of losing balls. (...) But at 4 tries at 1, it was not a close call. »
You are nine points behind Agen. The situation is getting complicated?
"It's complicated, but things can go fast too. We'll have a review in 3 games: we'll go to Perpignan, then we'll receive twice, the Stade Français and Toulon. These are tough games, but you also need to be able to take points. Perpignan will also want to win his first game of the year at home. I think that, over the next 3 games, we have the opportunity to take points. At the same time, Agen must also not win. Unfortunately, it is not up to us alone. But we have to take points during the next three games. »
So victory is almost mandatory next weekend?
"It would be nice to win in Perpignan. That would put us in a good position before our next two home games. But it is far from done. They don't give up either, even if they have very few points, they don't take big scores. They lose games, a bit like us, without making bad games. It will be difficult. They will be keen to win their first home game. We know the task ahead of us there. But, if we want to hope, we have to go to Perpignan to get points. But we won't give up, no matter what. »
