The "Rouge & Bleu" grabbed their second victory of the week (19-18)
The FCG had a good shot to play with the Toulon reception for the 22nd day of the Top 14, to be able to come back to Pau and Agen, beaten at the end of the afternoon.
The Grenoble team started the game very badly by taking 10 points in less than 10 minutes. But the "Rouge & Bleu" reacted and made up for it thanks to Gaëtan Germain's foot (6-10, 18'). In an electric atmosphere, the FCG finally managed to regain the score: Lilian Saseras found the space in the Toulon defence line, Alaska Taufa followed well and sent Lolagi Visinia to the try (13-13, 30')
The last ten minutes of the first half were tense: Anthony Belleau thought he had scored, but Raphaël Lakafia was guilty of elbowing Clément Ancely. The third Toulon line is shown a red card. The Isèrois then tried to score, but Gaëtan Germain experienced his first failure of the evening, with a penalty deflected by the wind.
The second half starts slowly. François Trinh-Duc missed the opportunity to pass in front, not Gaëtan Germain (16-13, 51'). In turn, the Grenoble team believed they had widened the gap, with a try from Junior Rasolea, but the referee went one ahead of a FCG player at the beginning of the action. A few minutes later, Ikpefan finally scored the third attempt of the match (16-18, 68'). François Trinh-Duc missed the transformation and allowed the FCG to stay in the game.
After a good Grenoble sequence, which began with a ball recovered by the Grenoble defence, then a penalty obtained. It was transformed by Gaëtan Germain (19-18).
The last minutes of the game were unbearable, but the FCG managed to get the ball back. The Grenoble forwards will play perfectly in the last two minutes, supported by a burning Alps Stadium and perfectly controlled by Lilian Saseras.
The FCG finally won (19-18). This victory allows the "Rouge & Bleu" to return to within 2 points of Agen and 6 points of Pau.
