Big win for the FCG in the derby

  • FCG - VRDR

FCG - Valence-Romans: 49-8

There was a world between the relegated FCG and the promoted VRDR before this game, between the second in the championship and the team that stands last. And the gap was felt throughout the match, as the "Rouge & Bleu" won 49-3 and are temporarily at the top of the Pro D2.

The match began with a penalty by Valence-Romans, but the Grenoble team then took control of the match. As soon as they were sent off, they scored by Corentin Glenat (7-3, 6'). The "Rouge & Bleu" solo rider will last half an hour, where they will manage to cross the line twice more (Alexandre and Tupuola), before scoring a penalty try (28-3, 28')

The Isèrois did not let up in the second half and scored three more tries by Etienne Fourcade, Bastien Guillemin and Steeve Blanc-Mappaz (49-3, 64'). The Drômois tried to score a try in the last 10 minutes. They arrived there by Eddie Sawailau, just before the siren (49-8, 80')

This bonus-point victory allows the "Rouge & Bleu" to temporarily take the lead in the Pro D2, before moving to Soyaux-Angouleme, which could regain first place on Sunday in Perpignan.
