The FCG slowly built its victory against Béziers (25-18)
The Grenoble players welcomed Béziers this Friday at the Stade des Alpes for the tenth day of Pro D2. Against an aggressive opponent, the Isèrois had to fight to win.
The FCG started their match badly, conceding a try at the end of the melee (0-5, 3'). Stéphane Glas' players rather have possession of the ball, but fail to set up their game and fall into the Biterrois trap. Worse, Franck Pourteau, not in success, only scored one of the 3 penalties he tried (3-5, 9'). Before the break, the two scorers each scored once to finish the first half (6-8, 34')
The "Red & Blue" start much better in the second half. On a candle of its half melee, the FCG retrieved the ball and quickly spread to the wing. Nathanaël Hulleu escaped his counterpart and allowed the FCG to pass in front (11-8, 48')
The Grenoble team then dominated the game more clearly, but were unable to score any more tries, despite two good opportunities. The second, in particular, where Corentin Glenat plays an advantage by looking for Raymond Rhule at his foot, on the opposite wing, but the CTUP ovulator finds... the post.... The "Rouge & Bleu" nevertheless widened the gap thanks to several penalties (20-11, 72').
At the end of the match, Lucas Dupont celebrated his 150th in the "Red & Blue" category by giving himself a try: he intercepted the ball and ran behind the line (25-11, 78'). Béziers scores a try after the siren (25-18, 80')
The Grenoble team remains at the top of the league before hosting Montauban next Sunday at the Stade des Alpes.
