FCG players could win a second home game in a row
Tenth in the Pro D2 ranking, the USM experienced a first third of the championship complicated by a staphylococcus epidemic. This disease, which still has several players from the Sapiac squad, has also led to the postponement of two matches, which will be played on November 29 (Aurillac-Montauban) and March 13 (Montauban-Provence Rugby). These two postponements have at least two consequences: the first is that Montauban is, at least temporarily, dropped out of the top group of the championship, the second is that the Montalbanese players will move to Grenoble in a marathon of 8 consecutive matches until Christmas.
Still led by Jérôme Bosviel (5th scorer in Pro D2, with 84 points), the Montalbanais suffered in attack, despite Silago's contribution (4 tries): they scored only 14 tries in 8 games. These offensive difficulties are now preventing Sapiac's club from getting out of this soft belly. Winner of Valence-Romans at the Stade Georges Pompidou, Montauban only won one away win (over 3 matches).
The latest results
Victory against Vannes (17-13), defeat at Oyonnax (29-13), Victory against Biarritz (15-14)
The next games
Montauban will host Carcassonne, then travel to Aurillac to play his first game late, before moving to Béziers in early December.
The last FCG - Montauban
In February 2018, the FCG had a complicated start to their game, before recovering and finally winning (24-21). Loïc Godener and Nigel Hunt, in strength, had scored the two Grenoble trials of the match.
