After 3 years as Chairman of the Executive Board and Supervisory Board, Michel Martinez and Eric Pilaud decided to step back and resigned this Thursday evening from their duties as Chairman. They remain active shareholders in our Club through the holding company Sport Passion Promotion (SPP). Nicolas Cuynat, member of SPP and Chairman and CEO of the Mare Nostrum Group (Major Partner of the FCG), has become Chairman of the Executive Board as of today. Laurent Pelissier, also a member of SPP and President of ECM Technologies (Official Partner of the Club), becomes Chairman of the Supervisory Board.
Michel Martinez: "It was an extraordinary and complex adventure, since we had to lead the transformation of our club, which was in a critical situation while digesting Sogeti's massive withdrawal. It was an ongoing mission during which I was able to appreciate the professionalism and enthusiasm at my side of a formidable and courageous team and committed partners. I made this decision last May, we had to anticipate in order to prepare the club as well as possible for the next deadlines. I am very pleased today to announce the appointment of our new Chairman of the Executive Board, Nicolas Cuynat. I would like to thank him warmly for having agreed to continue and take up the challenge. It was very important to pass the hand for the good of the institution and thus find new energies necessary for the continuation of our Club project. This has been done today and I will obviously remain with SPP, which gives its unfailing support to our new President. "
Éric Pilaud: "With Michel Martinez, we have taken over the governance of the Club at a turning point in its history. We had just lost Serge Kampf and our first historical partner. Michel succeeded in the feat of both restoring the club's finances and attracting new investors, while at the same time highlighting the club's own DNA, our training, the link with our alumni and supporters, and our territorial roots. The creation of SPP allows us to have a solid collective that watches over the club. In this context, we have always supported the idea that the Club was not a one-man club. It is therefore time for Michel and I to pass the ball to Nicolas Cuynat and Laurent Pelissier who will bring all their skills and energy to the service of our common project. "
Nicolas Cuynat: "It is a great source of pride to have been chosen to chair the Executive Board of my Club de cœur and always has been. I would like to warmly thank Michel and Eric for their unfailing investment over the years, and I know that they will always be at our side. I approach this new challenge with passion and the fierce desire to bring together all the men and women who love this Club. I am convinced that it is together that we will succeed in meeting the challenges ahead. "
Laurent Pelissier: "First of all, I would like to thank Michel and Eric for the work they have done for our Club over the years. The philosophy of the SPP project has always been to combine everyone's knowledge while offering financial autonomy to the Club. Today, I have the honour of having been chosen to be the Chairman of the Supervisory Board. I will try to bring all my energy and skills to continue the development of our Club. "
FC Grenoble Rugby invites you to meet in early 2020 to discuss the Club's future developments and the strategy that will be deployed in the medium and long term to achieve our objectives.
