FCG and GF38 will share the management of the Stade des Alpes

This announcement has been made today

10 years is the period during which FC Grenoble Rugby and GF38 will share the management of the Stade des Alpes. Regular co-users of the Grenoble stadium since 2012, the rugby and football clubs of the Isère capital will be entrusted with the management of the stadium from 1 November 2020 until 2030. It is Christophe Ferrari, president of Grenoble-Alpes Métropole, owner of the Stade des Alpes, made the announcement this afternoon in the presence of Yannick Belle, deputy vice-president for sports, Jean Luc Médina, representative of the GF38 and Nicolas Cuynat, president of the FCG.

A structure common to both clubs will be created to ensure responsibility for the management and development of the Isère stadium. A memorandum of understanding setting out the framework for cooperation between the Metropolitan Council and the two clubs, and which will prepare for the "convention d'occupation" of the Stade des Alpes, will be submitted to the Metropolitan Council on 7 February.

This new management model, unique in France, will enhance the attractiveness of the Stade des Alpes, already the stadium that had host the most professional sports competitions in France in 2019: 44 football and rugby matches, 550,000 visitors. The two clubs will be in a position of autonomy and responsibility and will have full latitude to develop their activities according to their sporting and financial ambitions.

The Stade des Alpes will primarily host the national championship matches of the two clubs, but it may open its doors for other national and international matches, as well as concerts and cultural events, at the initiative of the common structure, the two clubs or the Metro.

The new structure will be responsible for the reception areas, as well as for the commercial areas within the stadium. However, naming sponsorships will not be allowed: no company will be able to add its name to Stade des Alpes or replace it.

This new model is also reinforced by a €15M investment plan over 10 years, which will support the development of the stadium and ensure the possibility of additional revenue. The restructuring of the salons and skyboxes, the development of commercial areas and the laying of a new pitch are already planned. Upgrading of signage, accessibility and video protection will also take place.
