The Grenoblois will want to get the leadership of the Pro D2
The looks are a little more serious, the laughter is a little more rare, the determination is a little greater: the FCG players are preparing for a big match!
Begun at Alpe d'Huez, the preparation of the reception in Perpignan continues since last Friday in a more usual setting, at the Stade Lesdiguières, or at the Stade Jean Beauvallet in Seyssins on Monday. But the Grenoble-based players are well aware that they will start on Thursday, a block of very high level, where they will face 3 applicants for the qualifying places, starting with Perpignan, the current leader of the championship.
This penultimate boulder is a real test for the Isèrois, who will be able to evaluate themselves in view of the final stages, which they wish to reach at the highest possible level. Facing the USAP on Thursday, they will meet an opponent they have known well for several seasons. The "Red & Blue" had been surprised by the Catalans two seasons ago, in Pro D2, in the heart of winter (defeat 17-24). This single defeat at home had undoubtedly cost the Grenoble team one of the top two places.
This season, the stakes are quite similar: in the event of defeat, the Isèrois could see Colomiers and Perpignan take the lead in the Pro D2. Conversely, if the Grenoble giants manage to win, they would regain the lead of the championship and ideally start this block.
