FCG strenghten its back row
Of Tongan origin Tanginoa Halaifonua (23 years old, 196 m for 114 kg), currently plays for the LOU Rugby club where he also trained before joining Massy on loan last season. He plays both 3rd line wing and number 8 and can also play in the second line.
He is a player who has been followed for a few years by the sports staff, as Franck Corrihons testifies.
"He's a player we've known well for many years. We regularly played him when he was a LOU hopeful and Sylvain Begon really appreciated his aggressiveness and his ability to defend hard. Last year, he was on loan to Massy and we followed him closely. He confirmed his potential. Considering the competition he has in the third row at the LOU, he wished for a new challenge to get back some playing time. He can play 6-8 see second line. He is young, with a good margin of progression, corresponds to our project, while being JIFF. He is a fighter, a big defender who also likes to carry the ball. He has in a corner of his head the desire to play for Tonga at the next World Cup in France in 2023 and for that, he needs playing time and visibility. "
Tanginoa Halaifonua has signed for the next two seasons.
