FCG get drawn in Béziers

FCG beaten in Béziers (22-12)

After a failed outing in Aurillac and a home draw against Montauban, the "Rouge & Bleu" wanted to get back on track by going to Béziers for the 4th round of Pro D2.

The first half, played in the rain, is rather balanced, after a period of domination in Beziers (7-3, 21'). But Enzo Selponi succeeds in converting the penalties obtained in particular by Deon Fourie and the other Grenoble players on contest. Both teams go back to the changing rooms with one point of difference (10-9).

The Grenoble players start well the second half by taking the lead quickly (10-12, 43'). But, their difficulties in scrum as well as in the game of occupation make the meeting complicated to the Isèrois. The game will be played almost exclusively in the Grenoble players camp. At this game, the Isèrois finally break down and take another penalty (13-12, 57'). Without an attacking ball, the Grenoble players are reduced to defending. And, finally, they break down (16-12, 70'). They finish the game at 14 after Taleta Tupuola's yellow card and take two more penalties, which deprive them of defensive bonuses (22-12, 78').

With 6 points in the standings at the end of this first block, the " Rouge & Bleu " are far from their roadmap. They will have a few days to recover before preparing two important milestones: the trip to Perpignan and the reception of Valence-Romans.
