FCG forwards coach, Sylvain Begon, talked to the press before the game in Béziers
How did you manage the post-game this week?
"We tried to recover. Even if the result was not what we expected, the boys put a lot of energy and commitment into it. On the investment, they were beyond reproach. We didn't find the solutions to break the lock and beat this team from Montauban. They invested a lot, there were a lot of sores after the game. So we took the time to recover well. And then we focused our work on simple things, basics and a little strategy. The week passed quickly. But the most important thing this weekend will be the investment and what we're going to put on the field. "
Did you focus on the rucks?
"We did two refresher sessions. Afterwards, is it more difficult for us than for the others, I don't know, since we also contested a lot of balls this weekend. We were contested three times in our camp, and it was, each time, synonymous with points for Montauban. There are things that we have to work on. We have to be closer to the carrier. There are adjustments to be made. It has to be quick so that we don't have to repeat the same problems over and over again in the games that come up. We have to find consistency and a good balance in the strategy. Otherwise, we are doomed to experience the same scenarios. "
A few words about Béziers, the next opponent?
"An opponent who will undoubtedly be wound up. But above all, it is very difficult to maneuver. Béziers is a team that we know very well. Who has very interesting arguments, especially in front of them. It's a dense, aggressive team. We will have to be present in the investment and the fight. Then, we hope that there will be flaws and that we will be able to exploit them. When we see the homogeneity of this championship, we must stop believing that there are teams that are weaker than the others. We have to tell ourselves that all the games are very difficult. And that, if we go through a bit, if we are not precise enough, unfortunately, we will be sanctioned. This may be the case in Béziers if we don't do the right thing. It's up to us to take things in hand and to be actors of this game, whether in the fight or in the animation, to bring back something positive. "
You've changed the group quite a bit. Is it a punishment for the absent ones?
"It's not a sanction. We have boys who have been working hard since the beginning of the season, who we want to see and who have given us satisfaction on the field. There are also boys who need a break. We have injured people, in a mess. We lost again Leva Fifita, Alaska Taufa and Benito Masilevu. And our deep field which is already quite bald. We are also adapting to these wounds. There are also young players who are performing and that we want to see in a context like that of Béziers. We have full confidence in them. We feel we've put together the best possible team for this game. "
