A new «Classique» in Perpignan

  • Davit Kubriashvili

FCG will travel to Perpignan on Saturday

New episode of the now "Classic" between Perpignan and the FCG on Saturday, in Catalonia. Both teams are in diametrically opposed states of form. The "Rouge & Bleu" won only one game this season (in the first day against Nevers), conceded a draw at home and lost twice away (in Aurillac and Béziers). Conversely, Perpignan, beaten in the opening match of the championship in Biarritz, remains on 3 consecutive wins, including the last, improved, against Mont-de-Marsan (50-10).

Both teams, who know each other well, will be waiting on the meeting zones, where Davit Kubriashvili, the former FCG player who joined Perpignan this week, could play a key role!

For Grenoble, this game will have a marked importance: it will be a question of getting back on track after a first missed block. On the USAP side, a victory would allow to push a competitor uphill and to get closer to Oyonnax at the head of the Pro D2.

Latest results

In a late game on the second day, the USAP defeated Mont-de-Marsan in Aimé-Giral (50-10). The Catalan club had previously won in Carcassonne (23-26) and against Rouen (20-14).

The next games

Perpignan will go to Nevers, will welcome Colomiers and then go to Montauban.
