Grenoble too soft

Grenoble lost without a bonus in Perpignan (26-18)

In difficulty since the beginning of the season, the "Rouge & Bleu" had a lot to do this Saturday with a trip to Perpignan.

The first half hour is rather balanced, with both teams not really managing to put their game in place. It's the strikers who animate the scoreboard (3-3, 11'). At the half hour of play, the USAP finally manages to destabilize the Isère defense. Following a missed touch by the FCG forwards (one of the black points of the game, on the Grenoble side), Perpignan recovers and Volavola, with a long diagonal kick, finds Pujol, who will score near the poles (10-3, 31').

Without ammunition on their offensive phases, the Grenoble players conceded two yellow cards, forcing them to play outnumbered for 20 of the 40 minutes of the second half. Perpignan took advantage of this to widen the gap a little more (19-6, 63').

On one of its first frank incursions in the 22 opponents, the FCG is intercepted and Perpignan can take an irremediable advantage in the score (26-6, 69').

Probably taking advantage of a slight slackening of the premises, the "Rouge & Bleu" dominate the last 10 minutes. Adrien Séguret, following a scrum on the opponents' 5 meters, and then Ange Capuozzo, for a 100 meters try, both score (26-18, 80').

With this no-point trip, the FCG has nevertheless reassured itself on certain aspects of the game (scrum, defense, solidarity), but still has several areas to work on (line-outs, offensive animation, discipline).

The FCG sees the USAP escape the rankings, while the "Rouge & Bleu" are stagnating at the bottom. After 4 games without victory, the "Rouge & Bleu" will not have the right to make a mistake next weekend against Valence-Romans, for the derby dauphinois.
