FCG host Valence-Romans for the 6th round of Pro D2
After five games without a win and a draw at home against Montauban, the "Rouge & Bleu" are under pressure as they welcome Valence-Romans to the Stade des Alpes on Saturday for the sixth day of Pro D2. If they can't count on a large crowd, the FCG will have to rely on the positive points seen in Perpignan, the performance in the scrum, the offensive awakening at the end of the game, etc.
But against Grenoble, Valence-Romans will be up against them. The VRDR knows a good beginning of season, with 2 victories in 4 games (9th in the ranking). However, the Drômois won these two games at Pompidou and suffered their two away defeats, taking more than 30 points each time (33 in Nevers, 36 in Vannes).
The VRDR squad has been strengthened this summer with the arrival of several players who are experienced in Pro D2 and Top 14 games, such as Jody Jenneker, Pieter-Jan Van Lill, Benjamin Collet, Enzo Sanga and Dug Codjo.
Latest results
The VRDR has not played since September 25, in Vannes (36-10). Before that, VRDR had lost in Nevers (33-11) and beaten Carcassonne at home (32-24).
The next games
Valence-Romans will host Béziers, then will play away twice: to Rouen and then to Mont-de-Marsan.
The last FCG - Valence-Romans
Almost a year ago (it was October 4), the FCG largely dominated Valencia-Romans (49-8).
