FC Grenoble Rugby is sad to inform you of the death, at the age of 80, of Robert Poinsignon, who passed away last night.
Robert Poinsignon was born on February 27, 1940, in Grenoble. Called up for service during the Algerian war, he served 26 months before returning to France and working for Rhône Poulenc for several years. He then became a seasonal merchant, in Les Deux Alpes in winter and in Roquebrune Cap Martin in summer. Then, in 1982, he opened his "Robert Bar", a favorite place for the third half of the Old Boys' time.
Robert had been linked to the FCG for more than 60 years. He played for the Club, between 1954 and 1968, in the second row position. He then became coach with the young "Red & Blue" between 1970 and 1977. In recent years, he was with the FCG first team where he volunteered his time for the stewardship and preparation of equipment before each game.
He was capped in 2016.
FC Grenoble Rugby sends its deepest condolences to his family and friends.
