Before the meeting between Colomiers and FCG, Enzo Selponi looks back on the game postponed against Provence Rugby because of snow.
Were you ready to play in the snow on Friday against Provence Rugby?
"Very honestly, I was totally ready. After the warm-up we went through we prepared very well for the game, I was hot to play it. Then there was this twist where we had to wait ten minutes. And after those ten minutes, on the other hand, I honestly admit it, I didn't feel like it at all anymore. But quite honestly, as soon as we got back to the locker room, we were all ready to play it. Because, in our heads, we were sure we were going to play it. Since it had already happened several times, for example, last year in Oyonnax, I remember Oyonnax-Perpignan had been played under the snow. But hey, it's a synthetic of the blow, it melts maybe faster. But, with flakes falling like that, it's sure that after the last ten minutes, it was impossible to play. Because all the flakes were covering the lines."
You quickly turned to moving to Colomiers?
"After that it wasn't difficult, as it was evening, we quickly moved on. We immediately moved on. It might have been more complicated if we had had to play it on Tuesday. Because there were a lot of guesses. We could play it on Saturday. We could play it on Tuesday. So, as a result, it might have been more complicated to play it during the week, given that we were playing Colomiers afterwards. But, you have to be able to switch from one game to another, it's simple. It's a bit like if we had played it in the end, except that it was postponed. But we'll have to play it no matter what. I hope we win it too. But in any case, I feel and I felt on this game, maybe as a group effect, maybe as a heat effect, that the group has prepared well to go and play Colomiers."
Do you think this group effect can help you find the confidence you've been looking for since the beginning of the season?
"It would have been nice if we had played it and won it last weekend. But I think that, as I just said, we all pulled together. Maybe to give it some warmth on the day of the game. But I still felt that the group had prepared well for the game. I think that this week, we've moved forward. And this week we did another very good week of preparation. So now we just have to put the ingredients, as they say, on Thursday."
