Grenoble beaten for the first time at home

After a missed first half, FCG was more enterprising in the second half. But the lack of realism of the "Rouge & Bleu" did not allow them to win (14-18).

The stakes of the game were quite simple for Grenoble: a victory would allow the "Red & Blue" to get back into the Top 6 and a defeat would take them a little further away.

Weary, the Isèrois got off to a very bad start, conceding a try after a few minutes of play (0-5, 3'), even losing Eric Escande on a yellow card for this action. After a long-range penalty by Corentin Glénat (3-5, 11'), the locals conceded another try, on a second incursion of the Biarrots into the FCG camp (3-12, 14').

In difficulty in the game, the Grenoble players are even a little lucky to see the referee not give a try. At the end of the first period, the FCG finally arrives in the 22 with a touchdown at 5. On this one, Jean-Charles Orioli follows the work of his pack to pass behind the line (8-15, 40')

At the beginning of the second period, the Biarrots score another try. But this one is almost miraculously refused by the referee. The Grenoble players, much better, put a lot of volume into the game, but only manage, on too rare occasions, to be dangerous. They reduce the score on penalty (11-15, then 11-18, then 14-18, 71').

In the last ten minutes of the game, Steffon Armitage makes a festival of the contest, depriving the Grenoble players of opportunities to score. And the score will not move any more.

With this defeat, the FCG is stuck in the second part of the ranking, 5 days away from moving to Soyaux-Anogulême.
