For this match of the 15th day of Pro D2, FCG won 35-27 on the pitch of Oyonnax. The first away victory of the Rouge & Bleu who perfectly launched this year 2021 and let us see some good hopes
The Grenoble-based team missed their start completely and conceded a try by Taylor Paris in the second minute. Despite a large possession, FCG failed to score as the home side systematically crossed the line at each incursion into our 22m. At half-time, Grenoble were 24-3 down.
At half-time nobody saw FCG recover from that blow... And yet... The Red & Blue didn't give up and resumed the game with their feet on the ground. Karim Qadiri scored a try in the 41st minute. Far from being a blow of honour, this try sounded the Grenoble revolt. The second half was going to be a real recital of our Red & Blue who were going to inflict a 32 to 3 on the locals. Unstoppable and overexcited, the Grenoble players crossed the line twice by Jean Charles Orioli and Julien Ruaud. A few minutes before the end of the match, they insisted by preferring to go to the sidelines rather than taking the penalties and ended up by sealing the score of the match thanks to Enzo Selponi who dived into the goal after a nice combination in the sidelines. The players and the staff could exult, they finally held their first away win after a second half of anthology which will have to mark the revival of our team!
The FCG will be back at the Stade des Alpes this Friday for the reception of Soyaux-Angoulême.
