Starting the match against the wind, the Isérois suffered from the start with an Agenese try in the 5th minute.
Stung to the core, the "little yellows" recovered and replied with a penalty. They then created several chances which unfortunately did not come to fruition.
The Agenais doubled their lead 10 minutes before the break.
After the restart, the Lot et Garonnais increased their lead with a penalty, but in the following minutes, prop Guigon crossed the line after a devastating break. Coming back to within 7 points of their opponents, the CD 38s created chances, notably through their opener, causing a huge breach in the opposing defence which stopped a few metres from the line, thus leaving the hope of a comeback.
Against all odds, the Agenais scored a third try through their centre, who was difficult to stop, reducing the hopes of the Isérois to nothing. The latter made it a point of honour not to give up and scored just before the siren.
Despite the defeat which deprived them of the final, the players of the CD 38 can be proud of their course which leads them to the third national place.
