Pillar 1: Leisure Rugby Wednesdays
This season, the FFR launched its Club Engagé label in order to promote the societal actions of clubs. The FCG is honoured to be one of the first clubs to receive this label!
To obtain the label, clubs must :
Develop the practice for seniors, teenagers or children
Have a written club project
Value their volunteers
Develop for at least 2 years an action/project in the 5 pillars proposed:
We present to you today the 1st pillar of the label and the associated FCG project:
INCLUSION - Rugby Wednesdays
It is within the framework of the "FCG in my city" scheme that every week, children from the Grenoble agglomeration benefit from the "Rugby Wednesdays" project. It is a project shared between 3 entities; the city of Grenoble, the national education system and the FCG.
Children from Grenoble schools who take part in rugby cycles can take part in "Rugby Wednesdays". A bus travels around the city to pick up the children and transport them to the stadium for an hour and a half of rugby training and reflection on fair play, followed by a snack shared with members of the FCG Rugby School. This programme is totally free for the beneficiaries!
With this scheme, the Club wishes to reinforce its social role with the youngest members and to convey the values of rugby. For the rugby school, it is also a way of detecting potential in young people who would not naturally come to rugby.
