Committed Club Label

PILLAR 2: FCG in my city

This season, the FFR launched its Club Engagé label in order to promote the societal actions of clubs. The FCG is honoured to be one of the first clubs to receive this label!

To obtain the label, clubs must :

- Develop the practice for seniors, teenagers or children
- Have a written club project
- Value their volunteers
- Develop for at least 2 years an action/project in the 5 pillars proposed:

We present to you today the 2nd pillar of the label and the associated FCG project:

CITIZENSHIP - FCG in my city

The FCG in my city scheme encompasses several projects carried out by the Club. Thanks to these actions, the Club accompanies the young people of the territory, conveys the beautiful values of this sport, brings rugby to the public known as "far from the practice".

Rugby & Fair Play: 36 classes, i.e. 1080 children!
The FCG's qualified educators intervene in the schools of the region through rugby cycles, these interventions work in two stages. A sporting part, where the pupils are introduced to the sport and a part of exchange on the values of the sport and of rugby in particular (fair play, place of the woman, hygiene and nutrition) making link with the everyday life. These are precious moments of sharing that promote diversity, respect for the rules and solidarity.

At the end of the season, the FCG organises a school rugby tournament, which brings together all the classes that have taken part in the Rugby & Fair Play cycles for one day!

Rugby Leisure Wednesdays: 30 initiation sessions
Every week, children from the Grenoble area benefit from the "Rugby Wednesdays" project. It is a project shared between 3 entities; the city of Grenoble, the national education system and the FCG.

Children from Grenoble schools who take part in rugby cycles can take part in "Rugby Wednesdays". A bus travels around the city to pick up the children and transport them to the stadium for an hour and a half of rugby training and reflection on fair play, followed by a snack shared with members of the FCG Rugby School. This programme is totally free for the beneficiaries!

Discovery course
At the end of the school year, a rugby discovery course is offered to around 20 children from the programme (who have followed the rugby cycles) on the basis of sporting criteria and fair play during a week at the Lesdiguières Stadium.

Sport & Profession" open house
The Club opens the doors of the Stade Lesdiguières to schools and institutions in the area. The objective is to present all the professions of professional and amateur sport through a visit of the premises and testimonies from administrative employees, players, medical staff, educators...
