Amazones U18
The young Amazons hosted their counterparts from Oyonnax for a warm-up match on Saturday at Lesdiguières. The match, which took the form of a third period, provided an opportunity to review the entire junior squad.
We saw some interesting collective defensive sequences, as well as some encouraging attacking moves for the rest of the season.
The match went off without a hitch and ended in a fine 48-12 victory for the 'Red & Blue'.
The qualifying rounds begin next weekend at home against Montpellier.

Gaudermen
The youngsters from the Isère region came out on top against BAAR 34-00 in a friendly match.

Amazones Reserve
Grenoble kicked off their league campaign in Montpellier in glorious sunshine.
Head coach Nathan Arnaud reflects on the match:
"Our side got off to a dream start with 2 unconverted tries in 10 minutes.
Then, perhaps due to a lack of pace, we were awarded a lot of penalties and our defence was disorganised, allowing Montpellier to pull ahead at 12-10.
A penalty before the end of the first half saw us come back to 13-12.
In the second half, a number of strategic errors prevented us from getting out of our own half for 25 minutes. After defending on our line several times, Montpellier managed to score and we were unable to regain the lead before the final whistle.
We were pleased with our first match, particularly our attacking play (our scrum has performed well again this early in the season, promising great things to come) and our more effective attacking and defensive line has enabled us to cause Montpellier more problems.
A frustrating result, but a good basis on which to work effectively in our next matches.
