They played for Grenoble and Bordeaux

  • Walter Desmaison
  • Mathias Marie

Gateways between Grenoble and Bordeaux are rare.

Mathias Marie and Walter Desmaison are the only players of the current rosters of Bordeaux and Grenoble to have played in the other club. If they have never worn the shirt of the first team of UBB, the two Grenoble players went through the Gironde academy before coming to FCG in 2015.

In the past, they are a handful of players who have worn the jersey of both teams. The most emblematic is undoubtedly Olivier Brouzet. Born in Beziers, the tall lock started rugby in Seyssins, before joining the academy of FCG. He begins with the first team in 1990. During the six seasons at the highest level among the "Rouge & Bleu", he participated at the epoépe of the Mammoths in 1993. He then played the CA Bègles-Bordeaux, which will merge with Stade Bordelais to form the UBB. After 2000, he played in Northampton and Clermont, and the Stade Français. Retired from the fields, he is now the director of development of the Union Bordeaux Bègles.

Jérôme Carré, David Dantiacq, Thierry Devergie Alifeleti Fakaongo and also played for the FCG and one of two Bordeaux clubs
