The vice-captain will stay in Grenoble
You extend your adventure with the FCG, what are your first feelings?
"I am very happy to continue the adventure with my club. It may seem a little easy to say, but the FCG really is my club. I do not want to let go and I'm glad that it too did not want to let go. "
Did you feel that your story with the club was not over?
"It is clear that with my injuries this season, I have played only 3 games, I suffered the season in the grandstand, I did not see myself signing anywhere else. And even if I had played all the matches I would never have signed anywhere else because I feel at home here. Maybe the story is not very beautiful this year, but that's my story, I assume. "
By extending your contract in this difficult period you feel that your status has changed?
"In my reflection, it was something that really mattered, either I went to another club with a" simple status " of winger or I got even more involved here with a role that can be even more important . I already have a slightly different role this season being vice-captain of the team and it is something in which I flourish. I am not a passive person. To be able to take full part in the project of the club in which I am evolving, is something that corresponds totally to me. We're in trouble! Whatever happens to the FCG, no matter what division we are in, we will have a huge challenge and it is these challenges that I love. But I get too serious there, I want to play for Grenoble that's it! I'm here at home, I want to defend this jersey! "
But the threat of relegation does not bother you too much?
"I feel very close to the recent history of the FCG. My career is quite parallel. The climb in Top 14, the successes, the Stade des Alpes, the adventure in European Cup last year. For 7 or 8 years, people have been accustomed to a steady progression, but not linear, with couacs and our end of seasons difficult. But objectively we have not really experienced a storm. There, the players, the staff, the supporters, the city know a real difficult season. I can assure you that everyone at the FCG is working hard to get their heads straight, but we can not do it. It's a fail. But that's sport. Despite all the talent, despite all good will, it happens. It's part of the life of a club. This creates for players, partners, supporters, staff frustration, nervousness. And fortunately that creates this because otherwise it would mean that the FCG, rugby is not a passion. But it is precisely in these moments that we must all show that rugby in Grenoble is something historical. Rugby is not just glitter, victories, turns of honor at the Stade des Alpes. It is also defeats, failures. It's up to us to show what we want to do with the FCG. And this is the story I want to write here. "
