Burton Francis will play for Grenoble

Burton Francis signed with FCG

The South African fly-half Burton Francis has signed a two-season contract (+1 in option) with the FCG.

He has evolved since 2013 under the colors of SU Agen, where he has played 3 seasons of Pro D2 and 1 of Top 14. During each of these 4 seasons he was one of the top scorers.

Before his adventure in Agen, Burton Francis played with various South African clubs and franchises, whether in Super Rugby or in national competitions. He played several seasons with Hendrik Roodt, during their formation with the Leopards, then later with the Bulls and Lions and the 2012 Super Rugby  alongside Gio Aplon with the Stormers.

Burton Francis explained his choice to FCGRUGBY.com: "I am really excited to sign this new contract with Grenoble. When we came in contact with Bernard Jackman, I had some doubts, the sports results of the club were not very good and I wanted to replay in Top14. But the project is really interesting. I have talked a lot with Gio Alpon and Hendrik Roodt who have re-engaged with the club. We were able to discuss how to work in Grenoble, about the long-term project and they quickly convinced me. I've known Hendrik since I was 18 years old. We played together and I also played against him, he was wreaking havoc and he keeps doing it. I love the player but also the man. It is really an honor to wear the same jersey again. I feel that there are some very nice things to do in Grenoble and I am very happy to be part of this project. "
