The last step for the Amazones

  • Amazones

They play the finals on Synday

After a near perfect season, the Amazons compete in the final of the Armelle Auclair championship against Bayonne Sunday in Béziers. This duel will oppose the two best teams of the regular season: in his pool, Bayonne conceded only one defeat (in Lons), while the Grenobloises only let a tie against la Vallette.

With 11 bonuses out of the 13 victories obtained, Bayonne has largely dominated the pool 2 of the championship. To do this, the ASB has among its ranks several French internationals who recently competed in the VI Nations, such as Céline Ferer, Amaya Gonzalez and Camille Cabalou. To reach the final, the Bayonnaises defeated Rouen (42-5) and Bordeaux (21-5).

On the side of Isérois, if no international has participated in the last VI Nations, Emmanuel Pellorce and his staff will be able to count on many talented players who have been valuable throughout the season but even more during these playoffs, such as Maëlle Filopon (two tries against Lons in semi-final, victory 33-12) or Claudia Gallin, precious in the kicking of penalties (as in quarterfinals against Tarbes, 20-13)

In Béziers, the "Rouge & Bleu" will try to overcome the iron defense of Bayonne to win this competition and ensure, at the same time, their presence in the feminine elite of French rugby, whether in the Top 8, or in the eventual Top 16.
