"Make everyone grow together"

  • Francois Uys

The of south african lock, Francois Uys, is one of the new recruits of the FCG

The training on Tuesday took place under a deluge. You prefer that to the heat of the last few weeks?

"I do not know if it's better or not, but we were really not used to being so wet! It's good to have a bit of rain, because it's been really hot for a month. It's not a problem to run or train under a little rain: it refreshes us! "

You arrived in France at the beginning of July. How was your debut in Grenoble and Isère?

"The club made things very easy. To be honest, coming here is a big change for a family. And it was really great how the club managed everything: the move, what concerns the rugby, ... We found our home, we are well settled. For the moment, we really like Grenoble. "

The FCG played two friendly games. How did you feel on the ground?

"With Lyon and Oyonnax, we played two very good teams. The first game was very hard, and the second almost even more, with big battles in front. It may take me a few games to get used to the French game: the players are more massive, but the game is slower. You have to get more power in the game. But whatever I can do on the ground, whatever missions I'm asked to do, I will gladly do as long as we can move forward. "

With almost 100 Super Rugby matches, you're one of the most experienced players in the group. Are you going to share this experience with the younger ones?

" I think ! We, the oldets, must help the youngest, the Espoirs. The young players here are very talented, like Mickaël Capelli or Kilian Geraci. It is an asset for Grenoble. That's why we're here to help them. Do all we can to help them move forward and make us grow together. "
