"Building confidence before the start of the Pro D2"

Stéphane Glas takes stock of pre-season preparation at 10 days of the start of Pro D2

The Pro D2 championship starts next week. How is the group?

"I hope we're ready. Anyway, we did everything we could. It's also important, gradually to increase the level, with these 3 friendly matches and the championship game coming. We tried to settle 2-3 little things after the first game, we will try to settle others after the second. Hopefully it works. We will normally have a slightly less difficult match than the first two, which were against teams of Top 14. Nevertheless, we will have to remain vigilant and try to gain confidence before the start of the championship next week. "

Lolagi Visinia, Beqa Gigashvili and Burton Francis, among others, will make their first game this season.

"It's important to see everyone to have a real workforce review. They did not play before because they had some problems: Beka was sick just before the Oyonnax match, Burton and Lolagi had problems with the knee and the calf. After that game, we will have seen everyone, with different playtime. But the important thing is that we will have seen everyone. We have been seeing them all at practice, very few injured. That is good news too. "

Does a typical team emerge?

"The championship of Pro D2 is long. There are 30 games to play. If we were to play a final tomorrow, there would obviously be a team-type. There will be one against Dax. But, by experience, having 23 players who are the same from game to game, it no longer exists. Because form and poor form, because injuries, because others need rest. And the schedule too: we will play Dax on Sunday, then Massy on Friday so we will have less recovery time. When all of these factors are at stake, we know that a group turns and does not stop at 23, 24 or even 25 players. It's wider than that. "
