Cold night for Grenoble

Grenoble lost its second away game in a row (30-14)

In particularly complicated conditions (cold, snow, wind), the Grenoblois went to Aurillac for the 14th round of Pro D2.

Despite the hostile weather, the game is engaged and pleasant, both teams prefer to play the ball in hand, rather than give it back to the opponent. In this game, it is Aurillac who scores first, after a very long sequence of play of several minutes (7-0, 7 '). The Grenoblois quickly respond in power, by Ali Oz (7-7, 15 ').

Local defense is in place, and Grenoble is struggling to find the gap. It is finally the Cantaliens who manage to score, taking advantage of the indiscipline of the "Rouge & Bleu", in difficulty in the scrum sector (17-7, 29 '). The FCG quickly reacts and Adrien Latorre reduces the score by transforming his own try (17-14, 34 '). Unfortunately, after a new penalty against Grenoble, Aurillac scored a third try (24-14, 37 ').

The second period will be more closed. Aurillac quickly scored a new penalty (27-14, 43 '). The "Rouge & Bleu" do not manage to control the ball and appear too rarely in the opposing camp, committing several knock-on. After another penalty conceded by the Grenoble scrum (30-14, 61 '), the Aurillacois will be the most dangerous. But, Fabien Alexandre and Loïc Godener, thanks to two good contests, relieve their team. On the other side, the "Rouge & Bleu" will never be able to defeat the local defense.

By losing without any bonus, the FCG loses the lead of the Pro D2 in favor of Montauban. The Grenoblois will play in the Stade des Alpes Friday for the game against Soyaux-Angoulême, beaten tonight by the Montalbanais.
