Grenoble starts with a victory

  • Mickaël Capelli
  • Lilian Saseras
  • Pablo Uberti

The FCG wins its first pre-season game (13-15)

For this first game of the 2018-2019 season, the Grenoble staff has chosen to carry out a broad review of its workforce, integrating several recruits and several Espoirs, and aligning a different team for each half.

In the first half, the Grenoblois have possession in the opposing camp, but they have to wait about twenty minutes before scoring their first points, with a try by Lilian Saseras. Mickaël Capelli scored a second try, after Provence Rugby reduced the score on a distant penalty. At the very end of the first period, Pablo Uberti marks the third try of the "Rouge & Bleu" (3-15)

The second half offers a different look: more aggressive in defense, the Provençaux manage to block the FCG offensives. On drive balls, they even pose problems to the Isèrois. After a penalty, they manage to pass the line on one of these phases of play, after a line-out in the Grenoble 22.

Both teams will then have oppotunities to score, but they failed (13-15).

The FCG will play a second friendly next Friday in Valence, against the LOU, before returning to Lesdiguières on August 17 for the final pre-season game against the Zebre.
