The FCG lost, but get its first point

  • Daniel Kilioni
  • Mike Tadjer

Grenoble - Toulouse: 20-23

In a match played, the Grenoblois gave a big fight but failed against Stade Toulousain, who took advantage of the mistakes of the "Rouge & Bleu" to win at Stade des Alpes.

Franck Pourteau opened the scoring with a penalty (3-0, 23'). Following a big attacking tackle by Alaska Taufa, Hans Nkinsi ran under the posts, but the referee felt that the action of the Tongan centre was illegal: the try was not granted and Taufa took a yellow card.

The FCG resisted well and even doubled the bet (6-0, 34'). Before Toulouse took advantage of a penalty played quickly in the 22 Grenoblois to score the first try of the match (6-7, 37'). But the "Rouge & Bleu" had not said their last word and, after a huge maul of his forwards, Daniel Kilioni scored before the siren (13-7, 40')

Toulouse took the lead early in the second half after Mike Tadjer had thrown too long (13-14, 44'). After another penalty from Toulouse (13-17, 62'), the Grenoblois returned to the opposing camp. Mike Tadjer put the FCG back in front on a carried ball (20-17, 67'). But, too imprecise and clumsy, the Grenoblois saw their opponents pass in front (20-23', 72')

In the last minutes of the game, the FCG camped in the 22 opponents. With a penalty under the posts, the "Rouge & Bleu" choose to go in touch. But this one did not give anything and the FCG conceded its first loss of the season at home.

Next meeting from Sunday, September 9 at 12:30 pm against the Section Paloise.
