FCG - Pau : 21-24
The FCG was hosting Pau for the third day of the Top 14. The "Red & Blue" lost another 3 points at the Stade des Alpes.
The Grenoble team quickly opened the scoring with Franck Pourteau (3-0, 7'). But then the Grenoblois were surprised by two identical actions. Jesse Mogg, first, then Julien Blanc, then concluded a supersonic restart in the opposing defence (6-14, 37'). Meanwhile, the FCG had a few chances to score, with Taleta Tupuola in particular, who put his foot on the sidelines before flattening out.
The second half offers a different face. In two minutes, the FCG quickly returned to the level of the Palois, thanks to a penalty from Franck Pourteau and a try from Pablo Uberti (14-14, 50'). But the Palois took control of the game again, with a penalty, first, then a new try under the posts (14-24, 65')
10 points behind on the scoreboard, the "Rouge & Bleu" regain control of the game. After several penaltouches, Loïc Godener flattens the ball in the end-goal (21-24, 75'). The FCG will then have two opportunities to go in front, but, too clumsy on the sidelines, it will not succeed.
With this second improved defeat, the FCG stagnated in the standings with two points, before moving to Castres and then receiving Perpignan.
