A new recruit for the 2019-2020 season

Michaël Simutoga sealed a two-season contract with the FCG starting next summer.

The 22-year-old tighthead prop will arrive in Grenoble from Clermont, where he played his first Top 14 matches (first match in April 2015 in Castres, 16 matches in Top 14, 3 in Challenge Cup and 2 in Champions Cup). The player of Wallisian origin has also played in two world cups and two VI Nations tournaments with the French U20 team.

Dewald Senekal explained why the FCG chose to recruit Michaël Simutoga: "Michaël is a young tighthead prop with strong potential, having gone through the Clermont academy. We liked the player for his activity on the field, his potential in a closed melee. He hasn't played much lately, because he's just come back from injury. The man we met is a very motivated player, with his head firmly on his shoulders, who wants to take more game time. He also heard some very good things about the formation of our young players, which probably convinced him to join us. »
