FCG know what is coming next

FCG validate its participation to the Access Match, after the loss in Pau

It took a win and an offensive bonus for the Grenoble team to have a final chance to maintain their position in the Top 14. Unfortunately, it was the Palois who obtained them.

As too often, it was the FCG that dominated the game, in terms of ownership, occupation and even crossings. But, as too often since January, the "Rouge & Bleu" had never managed to score in the try zone. Yet they had managed to slip in twice. In the first half, first, after the opening of the score (3-0, 9'), Lucas Dupont thought he had scored the first attempt of the match, but he had been pushed to the sidelines for a few centimetres just before. In the second half, then, Pablo Uberti let the ball slip when it was about to flatten, after a perfectly successful turnover.

Meanwhile, Pau had managed to score a try (8-0, 29'), taking advantage of the numerical inferiority of the "Rouge & Bleu" at the end of the first half (Kubriashvili before the Pau try, then Blanc-Mappaz just after). This try also shows a fairly balanced first half despite the difficulties of the FCG in melee, compensated by those of the Palois in line-outs.

The second half was copiously dominated by the Isèrois. But, too clumsy, they will never manage to score. It was even the Palois who finally scored two tries in the final minutes, to push the Grenoble team a little further (22-0)

After the last home game against the LOU next Saturday, the Grenoble team will be able to escape. To do so, you will have to win at the unfortunate finalist of Pro D2 on Saturday, June 2.
