Emmanuel Pellorce - Head of Women's Rugby / Elite 1 Team Coach

Can you introduce us to the group?
"The Elite 1 group is made up of 35 girls, we have a small group of about ten recruits and then we have girls who played in federal 2 last year who will be part of this group and who will potentially apply for a starting place. We also have a U18 that goes up with us: Shanone Van Peuter, who is not here at the moment because she is on an internship with the France Seven team. »

How did the preparation go?
"Pretty good in the sense that the girls did a lot of work for 3 weeks, access a little more on the physical aspect and a little less on rugby, even if there was individual technique. Of course, not all the girls were there for the recovery, some continue to arrive. Most of them have had a distance program to do and they are pretty fit for this early season, it's pretty good news. »

How is the integration of the news going?
"Pretty good, because it's a friendly club and these girls have a good state of mind which makes things easier, they're quite open and our girls too so everything is going very well for the moment. In any case, we will work to ensure that all year round we have moments of cohesion. »

In what state of mind are the players?
"I think they have taken the measure of that level, for those who were there last year. They have also become aware that it is necessary to increase their level whether physical, technical or tactical. Having played for teams like Montpellier or Toulouse also helps to desecrate things a little. I hope we won't watch them play anymore and that we will really face them, without pretending to compete with them, but in any case we must increase our level and really play them. »

What are the objectives of this prep match?
FCG Amazons vs LE LOU & ASM, 31.08, 15h45 in Viriat
We presented the project last Friday, and the girls did some work on it, we wanted them to think about what was expected of them and what they had learned from what we had done so far: building team cohesion, which will be a common thread this season. »
